When the road was iced over at the beginning of the month I called the council and asked why they hadn't salted the end of our road? Our neighbours car was hit three times in a row because it was parked on the corner. Apparently the road only has about 1 car every 30 minutes so they didn't feel the need to waste precious salt on it.
Well the ice has melted now and the contruction workers have moved in to fix the old water pipes. They have put one side of the road out of action, for maybe 50 yards. Now there is a temporary traffic light in place. It turns from red to green and back again without a car in sight! It seems that the 1 car every 30 minutes needs to wait for nothing to come the other way before it is allowed to continue it's journey along the road.
Logic escapes me!
